Police said Thursday the 82-year-old from the northern city of Hildesheim took the car in for repairs two years ago and had the mechanics drive it back to her house and park it in her garage. She got the keys and papers from her mailbox, but when she went to get the car it was nowhere to be found. So she reported it stolen. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32218556/ns/world_news-weird_news/

When I was a kid in Hi school I worked in a bakery to make money to buy records and to date the gals. I didn't have a car but I could name every make and model at 100 yards. While walking to work there was a house that had a garage on the corner and as a curious lad I peeked in the dirty broken window and there was a old car in there. After a year of walking by there I worked up enough guts to go up and knock on the door. A little old lady answered the door and I asked about the car in the garage. She said, a car in the garage? I said yep, is it for sale. She told me there wasn't anyone on the house that drove a car and it must of been her dad's car. Anyways she sold it to me for $25 and gave me credit so I paid for it in 2 months. It needed a battery and the tires were dry rotted and needed new tires but other than that it was in very good condition. It was a 1927 Franklin and it had a 6 cylinder air cooled engine. I worked on that car cleaning it and buying 1 tire at a time till I had 4 good tires on it. Then bought a used battery at the junk yard. That darn thing started right up but my dad wouldn't let me drive it cause I didn't have a drivers license. Life was fun back then...

Franklins were beautiful cars- Built in Syracuse, air cooled - My grandfather had several for years. Google "Jay Leno's garage" and see the video of his- verrry interesting...
