...or so sayeth It's over, says economist articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/Extra/the-recession-it-is-over-economist-says.aspxAnd then I just read this...Prolonged aid to unemployed is running out 1.5 million could lose benefits by end of year, according to group's researchOver the coming months, as many as 1.5 million jobless Americans will exhaust their Unemployment Insurance Benefits ending what for some has been a last bulwark against foreclosures and destitution. Because of emergency extensions already enacted by Congress, laid-off workers in nearly half the states can collect benefits for up to 79 weeks, the longest period since the unemployment insurance benefits was created in the 1930s. But unemployment in this recession has proved to be especially tenacious, and a wave of job-seekers is using up even this prolonged aid. Tens of thousands of workers have already used up their benefits, and the numbers are expected to soar in the months to come, reaching a half-million by the end of September and 1.5 million by the end of the year, according to new projections by the National Employment Law Project, a private research group. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32254520/ns/us_news-the_new_york_timesSoooooo...how is this an end to the recession? It is not! So why the lies? (Oh, sorry "misinformation" is the correct term) isn't it, especially coming from an "economist"

I think the economists are starting to see some things turn around. But I also feel that the recession is far from over!!!

It's over as far as I'm concerned. I had several job offers in the past month - things are looking up!

It's not over here in VT!! I am still looking for a good full-time job. Making less than 10/hr at a grcery store right now...fun fun!! I tried to get some asistance in paying some utilities and was told there was nothing...unless I had children, of course! Oh well, pay taxes all my life and when I need help..ain't it funny how things turn out.
Glad to hear things are looking up for you CNJmom!! You deserve it.

Keep plugging away, EXMP! It'll turn around for you! I know it's rough living in paradise without a job.
