Good morning everyone. It's blue skies and sun here today. The snow of a few days ago is all gone and we're back to dull, brown earth. <sigh> beags--Sorry that the doc's haven't found out what your problem is yet. I had my stomach scoped (blood in stools) and they found a bleeding ulcer due to meds I was taking. The doctor decided not to give me anything beforehand and the tube then put down my throat caused me to gag and have to constantly fight against it. God, I hated it!!!!! Are you planning to buy a laptop? I thought about doing that this last time my computer went out, but decided against it. I was able to replace my hard drive with a refurbished one for only $100. I can't believe that this country could ever accept someone like Rick Santorum as president. Everyday he makes some far right comment straight out of the 19th century. Is the GOP TRYING to commit political suicide? Do they seriously think that this country would follow this man's ideas? His comments about no free prenatal care, take the government out of public education, the "theology" of environmental concerns and global warming (i.e. putting care for the planet above man). And that was just yesterday's speech. What turn-back-the-clock things will he say today? Ah, well, time to kick back, relax and enjoy myself. Have a stuuuuuuupendous Sunday everyone.

The snow of a few days ago is all gone and we're back to dull, brown earth. <sigh> Pip- -You poor thing, frost overnight. <tsk, tsk> Had to pull out the warm coat. My heart bleeds for you in your hour of need. NOT!! Pod- -So you live in one of the most miserable parts of the UK, do you? Don't feel too bad. The area where I live is known as the land where the sun hardly ever shines. 75% or more of our days are cloud covered. Of course, that makes the days when it's sunny with blue skies all the more appreciated. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Ah, well, time to kick back, relax and enjoy myself. Have a stuuuuuuupendous Sunday everyone.

sus- -Do you ever read any of my postings anymore? You used to comment on things that I wrote in the Daily Bulletin or on my Today in History. But you haven't in some time. I miss it.
:(I have just about decided to stop posting my threads here and everywhere else. No one ever responds to anything I write. I'll take that back. I'll keep my poetry thread on Crapsters, since Royston posts his favorites too. But I'm going to drop the rest. It usually takes me several hours alone to do the Daily Bulletin and to never get any feedback has just gotten to be too depressing.

Good morning femme & friends. OK, where's the snow? We're back to bare ground which is definitely an ugly sight in winter. The snow is supposed to hide it from sight. And I don't want rain - SNOW, already!! Anyone watching Smash (on after The Voice). TV finally has come up with something new, starting with Glee. Now we have a "musical" about making a musical. It surprises me that TV didn't try this long ago, afterall, musicals are the long-running staples of Broadway, proving they are a populr form of entertainment. It's Mardi Gras time in New Orleans. They were showing some of the krewe parades on TV this a.m. Amazing floats and all the people scrambling for things thrown from the floats!! It must be an incredible experience to be in New Orleans (or Rio) at this time.
I hope you all have a grrrrrrrrrrrreat Fat Tuesday!!
#Connie_windowtongue# Good afternoon my UK friends & Dave!! Kelly- ;D-That may be an old joke, but it's still a good one! #cheer1-1##cheer1-1##cheer1-1##cheer1-1##cheer1-1# #waiting-929# We're back to bare ground which is definitely an ugly sight in winter. Hi foxfire. I envy you. I've been to New Orleans but not during Mardi Gras. And Rio looks to be even more fantastic.

Good morning everyone. My Lord, we have snow on the ground. So the weatherman was right. It did snow overnight but barely enough to cover the ground, It'll be gone by noon, I'd bet.
I'm a traditionalist and in winter we're supposed to have SNOW!!! Not and extended fall running immediately into an early spring.
I had a problem sleeping last night. I finally went to bed as 4 a.m. and still had trouble getting to sleep. So I'm not feeling awfully chipper today.
I hope you all have a tremendous Thursday.
#Connie_windowtongue# Good morning my UK friends. :)It's blue skies and sun with a few clouds here this a.m. :(The snow we had overnight is almost gone, but the weatherman says we're gong to have up to 4 inches overnight. For the water health of this area, I hope he's right!! ;D ;D ;D
Pod- #disappointed-1021# -You are soooooo right. All the ethnic comedians are gone. Mustn't upset the ........ (fill in the blank). Over here, it was especially Jewish comedians who used to crack jokes about their ethnicity all the time and were hilarious. But no more. Now all the ethnic jokes have been turn into FU ones. Personally, I much prefer ethnic humor to vulgarity. ???So where's Pip and her endless sunshine. MIA on a day when my sun is out too. #d_sunny##d_sunny##d_sunny##d_sunny# :-*I hope you all are having a tremendous Thursday.

Good morning everyone. It's gloomy outside and our snow is almost gone. Today, with a high temp of 47, should take care of what's left. What did you think of the Oscars? I was glad to see The Artist and Jean Dujardin win. In this day and age to make a silent movie be so successful takes a great deal of talent. The rest of the main Oscars followed the lead of the Golden Globes, so weren't a surprise. I did not watch any of the NBA All-Star weekend. I find their whole thing, skills compettion and game borng. And from what I've been hearing this morning, I'm glad I didn't. The older I get the more cynical I become about all levels of government. I got a letter from the party I've supported in the past, asking for a contribution. I wrote across the request a plague on both parties and that as far as I was concerned, all present members of Congress should be voted out of office.
Have a grrrrreat day, everyoone.
Kelly- -No joke today? who- -how did the visit to the doctor go? Pod--It seems that governments are the same the world over. Out to fatten themselves as the expense of the average citizen. The older I get the more cynical I become about all levels of government. I got a letter from the party I've supported in the past, asking for a contribution. I wrote across the request a plague on both parties and that as far as I was concerned, all present members of Congress should be voted out of office. :-*Have a grrrrrreat day everyone.

Good mroning everyone. The weather predictions for today are all gloom and doom - freezing rain/sleet/snow & up to 3 inches of snow possible. I'll believe it when I see it. Right now it's just gloomy. Have you seen the story about the Air Force admitting to dumping 9/11 cremated remains in a landfill? What is wrong with these people at Dover AFB? How long has this been going on? It first came to light over their dumping dead servicement coming home from Iraq. Now the practice goes back at least as far as 9/11. I would like to know when it started. Desert Storm? Vietnam? When? Oops. Gotta go. A certain kitty kat says she wants some breakfast (and now that I thnk of it, so do I! I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

You give a great start to my day. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Pip- #hapydancsmil# -I bet you'll be glad when the building is over!! Pod- -Where are you this p.m.? Up too late last night? :-*I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning femme and friends. With all the tiredness here - have any of you tried those instant energy drinks? Do they really work? I also wonder what they contain that is better than a shot of caffeine? I think I'll stick with coffee. Well, what do you know? There's the sun!! Wow. I had forgotten what it looked like. Kind of bright, isn't it? One nice thing about being retired - every day is a weekend day. I don't miss getting up at the break of dawn to get ready to go to work at all. I like being able to roll over and go back to sleep. This is now my 10th year of vacation and I'm still enjoying the perks of not having to fight traffic, bad weather, etc. It was great having a nice long chat with mmhmm yesterday. She was able to settle a problem for me. All my sons and families are going to Maryland on the 23rd to celebrate their grandmother's (father's mother) 90th birthday and I'll be left with no family to call on. My eldest son is my health proxy. He has had to make health decisions for me twice. It turns out that it can be done over the phone ,as long as he has the papers with him and my SSN. Probably nothing will happen, but better to be safe than sorry. And on that note, TGIF everyone. Good afternoon my UK friends. Kelly- -I still think you did the right thing. How do those neighbors know that his real purpose wasn't to case the premises for a future break-in? What do you know? I have actually seen the sun today!! It's been so long since I last saw it, I had forgotten how bright it is. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :-*TGIF everyone.

Good Sunday morning my friends. Today looks to be one that can't make up its mind what to be - cloudy, snowing, some sun, etc. But one thing that is constant - COLD. Temps steadily dropping into the teens. Brrrrrrr! Watched my first baseball (spring training) game yesterday - Phillies vs Yankees. The drought is over and baseball is back. the sun just came out and boy did that brighten things up! Now I'm waiting for my youngest son to bring me my Dunkin Donuts hazelnut flavored coffee. Oops, there went the sun and now we've got snowflakes. Have a super Sunday everyone. [[ #Connie_windowtongue# Good afternoon my UK friends. Pip- -Maybe you'd prefer my 22F weather?? I'd be glad to exchange weather with you. ;D ;D #cold1# #cold1# ;D ;D ???How long before the conservatory is done? Is this one of those projects that seem to go on forever? :-*I hope you all have having a Super Sunday.

Good morning femme and friends. Well, the weather is warming up again and the little bit of snow we got the past two days has disappeared. Right now it's sunny with blue skies. < sigh> 2 1/2 weeks until the first day of spring and for once I'm almost sorry. There's a reason that the northeastern US is called the rust bucket states. Along with the upper northwestern US, we seem to get rain when all the rest of the country is suffering from a lack of water. That's why it's a worry when we have a winter with so little snow. Here in central NY we haven't made a monthly average let alone a seaon's. I'm afraid that we're in for a nasty summer. Where are the grapes for the wine industry going to get their liquid? or the apple trees. My area usually produces 30 million bushels of apples a year. Most going to Mott's. Have a terrific Tuesday everyone.
#Connie_windowtongue#Good morning IIF & Wingnut, Kelly, who, femme, Heart, Sparkle, SFlMom, FS and anyone else coming by.
FS- #bf-Imhere# -I'd give it at least a week's try. It's going to take some getting used to, but wait and see if it serves the purpose of getting the various groups to mingle more. For instance - I'm the only "outsider" who posts on the UK thread until now. My reason was because I knew who, Pod and Pip from when I had my own thread on UK News and they were part of the Compuldory crew. #smiley-happy114# #smiley-happy114# ::)Well, the weather is warming up again and the little bit of snow we got the past two days has disappeared. Right now it's sunny with blue skies. < #girl_sigh# sigh> 2 1/2 weeks until the first day of spring and for once I'm almost sorry. :-*Have a terrific Tuesay everyone. #Laie_15# Good afternoon my UK friends.
Pod- -I gather you don't have eating contests in the UK. Unfortunately, we do and they are very popular. There's even a world championship contest. Personally, I can't stand them. Watching a bunch of idjits stuffing themselves isn't my idea of fun. Kelly- #palomitas# - I hope you get your screen fixed. Every once in a while I hit a wrong button or something and my screen goes wacky. It drives me crazy until I can get it straight. Usually takes rebooting my computer. :)I kinda like FS's rearrangement. It puts my 4 favorite threads all in one place. ;D ;D ;D ;D :-*Have a terrific Tuesday everyone.
